Dear reader, |

In a continuation of recent years, 2025 will also be marked by significant political challenges and mounting pressure on the international order. The upcoming Bundestag elections will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of cooperation with countries in the Global South and the broader international community.
In light of the above, it will remain our responsibility to provide insights into current challenges and contexts. At the beginning of the year, our focus will be on fair global trade and the extent to which this can be made possible in times of geopolitical rivalries. At the Dresden International Forum, we will also examine the links between resources and conflicts and how sustainable resource management can contribute to peace and prosperity on the African continent.
We hope you enjoy reading!

Special Issue in ZeFKo Studies in Peace and Conflict
The current special issue of the journal ZeFKo Studies in Peace and Conflict, edited by Hannah Franzki (FU Berlin), Christian Scheper (INEF) and Carolina A. Vestena (University of Kassel), examines the links between transnational corporations and phenomena of violence and conflict. The issue makes an innovative contribution to peace and conflict research by showing how economic, legal and political perspectives can be integrated into the analysis of conflicts in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of violent structures and practices of political-economic orders. These are often also precursors or causes of escalating violent conflicts. |
