With the integration of a comprehensive peace dimension, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development lays the basis for a new form of engagement with fragile and conflict-affected states – and hence for the eradication of extreme poverty, the reduction of violence, and the narrowing of social and political inequalities. But with "business as usual", these states will not reach the ambitious objectives of the Agenda.
