Countries around the globe were equipped with different resources to deal with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, which points to imbalances in the global health architecture. To be prepared for future pandemics, negotiations for a new global pandemic treaty are scheduled to begin in early 2023. Anna Holzscheiter, author of Global Governance Spotlight 3|2022, discusses whether the treaty can live up to the high expectations placed on it and whether it may foster global equity and justice.
