The first half of Agenda 2030 has passed, and still the international community is far from implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The lack of access to funds for implementing necessary reforms is a key problem for many countries of the Global South. Therefore, Bodo Ellmers, author of the Global Governance Spotlight 2|2022, argues that there is an urgent need after the last conference in 2015 for a new global Conference on Financing for Development. He mentions three fields for the conference, in which the international finance architecture needs adaptation to the global development of the past few years.
