8-9 December 2015
House of the EKD Berlin

Report   Programme

Conference language: English

70 years after the establishment of the United Nations (UN), the world finds itself in a state of turmoil. The institutional setting of the UN has met with substantial criticism for quite some time. But much more fundamentally, some of its underlying norms and principles remain heavily disputed. None of the main lines of conflict is in any way new, but they all seem to be emerging with more emphasis and – more importantly – a greater variety of voices This year’s International sef: Expert Workshop on 8/9 December will therefore identify bridges for these lines of conflict as well as potential elements of a new consensus on the foundations of international cooperation with regard to peace and security.
